Fathered from the designs of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, the Kubelwagen Type 82 served the German military extensively during WWII. The Kubelwagen was chosen as the perfect vehicle for service in North Africa as it required no onboard cooling system, was easy to operate, and could be quickly modified to operate in the desert environment. Before the epic struggle of WWII came to a close, 51,000 Kubelwagen vehicles had been produced for military use.
